Description
The UBISO Dual DVB-S2 IP is a low-cost, highly integrated dual DVB-S2 IP targeted for use in DVB-S and/or DVB-S2 satellite set-top box ICs. The device can process two data paths in parallel, i.e. two independent DVB-S or DVB-S2 data paths. The device is well suited for gateway, PVR, push-VOD and EPG applications.

Its primary function is to take baseband analog I and Q signals containing the transponder of interest and then to digitize, demodulate, decode, and output the decoded MPEG transport stream data.

Application
The following diagram shows the UBISO dual IP in a set-top box application. It converts baseband I and Q signal into bit streams for use by the back-end function of the set-top box. This includes digitizing, demodulation and decoding of high definition content for next generation television.
